01.Emodepside is a semi-synthetic derivative of PF1022A containing para-linked in each of the two D-phenyllactic acids. Emodepside is effective against a variety of gastrointestinal nematodes. Emodepside binds to the presynaptic latrophilin receptor in nematodes .
02.Emodepside produces a slow time-dependent (20 min), sensitive, concentration-dependent hyperpolarization and volt-activated K current increase. Emodepside can inhibit spikes. Emodepside significantly inhibited spike frequency by 9.8 spikes/min between 20 and 35 min
03.In the presence of emodepside, a highly increased current is observed without depolarization up to the threshold of 0mV and without any additional stimulus to artificially increase the [Ca2 +] i level. These new findings confirm that Slo-1 is a direct target of emodepside.
