What is Penicillin G Benzathine?
Penicillin G Benzathine, or Benzathine Benzylpenicillin, is known as a long-acting natural penicillin antibiotic. Penicillin G Benzathine is used to treat and prevent a wide variety of bacterial infections such as rheumatic fever. Penicillin G Benzathine /Benzathine Benzylpenicillin works by interfering with the formation of the bacteria's cell wall while it is growing. Penicillin G Benzathine weakens the cell wall and kills the bacteria.
Benzathine penicillin is a sterile powder made of dibenzylethylenediamine salt of penicillin with an appropriate amount of buffer and suspension aid. The excipients were refined lecithin.
