Description:
Telmisartan is a novel antihypertensive drug, a specific angiotensin II receptor (AT) antagonist, used to treat essential hypertension. The alternative angiotensin II receptor binds to the Chemicalbook subtype of the AT receptor (a known site of action of angiotensin II) in high affinity. Telmisartan does not have any site agonist effect AT the AT receptor site, and selectively binds to the AT receptor, and the binding effect is long-lasting.
