Description:
Moxifloxacin is a macrolide and semisynsynthetic derivative of nimooxetine. Moxifloxacin is a parasiticide used for the prevention and control of filarial and intestinal worms. Moxifloxacin is found in veterinary medicines used to treat animals such as dogs, cats, horses, cattle and sheep.
Moxificidine began to be used as an anthelmintic for animals. As a new generation of anthelmintic drug, moxificidine can effectively kill nematodes and ectoparasites, and has good safety in animals. It is superior to ivermectin in terms of dosage, formulation development, drug resistance, and in vivo drug distribution.
Moxificidine is very lipophilic, resulting in its high circulation. Moxicidin is concentrated in the adipose tissue of the animals and is released for up to two months from the start of administration. In goats, moxicidin has a 2.7-fold lower oral bioavailability and a 1.8-fold shorter half-life than sheep.
